College (colegio universitario) gratuito de pregrado ubicado en la ciudad de Nueva York, EE.UU. Fue fundado en 1859, gracias a una donación de Peter Cooper.
Sus recursos financieros luego fueron incrementados por las familias Hewitt y Carnegie. Todo estudiante que aprueba un examen de admisión es aceptado. Comprende escuelas de arte, arquitectura, ingeniería y humanidades, y ciencias sociales. Muchas agencias de seguridad social se fundaron en Cooper Union. Su biblioteca fue el primer lugar público gratuito de lectura. En 1967, su museo de arte decorativo, abierto en 1897, fue transferido al Instituto Smithsoniano con el nombre de Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
